The Rafael Domenech Auditorium in Benidorm hosted a new musical exchange concert, organized by the Provincial Council of Alicante with the collaboration of the Department of Culture.

The XXIII Campaign of Musical Exchange Concerts brought together the Musical Group of the Carolinas Cultural Sports Society, from Alicante, and the L’Illa Musical Society of Benidorm. The campaign runs between March 20th and October 4th.
The event was attended by the mayor Toni Pérez, the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, and several members of the municipal corporation.
The first part of the program was performed by the Carolinas Musical Group, under the direction of Jaume Pascual Sirera. They presented the pieces ‘Siempre Carolinas’, by Ferrer Ferran; ‘Pescadoras valencianas’, by Adam Ferrero; and ‘Azul Segrelles’, by J. C. Sempere Bombón. As an encore, they dedicated a piece to Beneixama.
The second half of the concert featured the band from the L’Illa Musical Society of Benidorm, conducted by Oswaldo Olmos Jover. They performed ‘Arabesque’, by Samuel R. Hazo; ‘The hounds of spring’, by Alfred Reed; and ‘Alternances’, by André Waignein. They concluded the performance with a pasodoble by maestro Cano.
After the performance, Toni Pérez congratulated both ensembles, highlighting the “importance of these musical exchanges” and noting that “musicians from all over the region” participate in the SM L’Illa.
