The Community of Mooring Holders of Luis Campomanes Port in Altea has unanimously approved a funding round to boost public awareness of the conflict and initiate immediate actions.

The concession of Campomanes Port in Altea continues to fuel conflict with mooring holders. An Extraordinary General Assembly, held on March 31 and made public this Tuesday, has approved a first round of funding. The aim is to promote public awareness of the so-called "Campomanes Case" and to launch immediate actions.
The concessionaire of Marina Greenwich Sports Port informed the Nautical Club that it had until May 7, 2026, to vacate the facilities they themselves built, after 42 years of history in the port. This decision was made after obtaining a 10-year extension granted by the Ministry of Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility. Those affected believe that this authorization is not extendable to other usage rights that were sold, such as the operation of the club and the ownership of the moorings.

"The intention is to turn a simple administrative extension into an instrument to empty consolidated rights of decades, displace legitimate holders, and open an operation with a potential millionaire benefit that is totally disproportionate and incompatible with public interest."

The Community of Mooring Holders of Luis Campomanes Port, representing 432 holders, has approved activating a "legal, institutional, and public offensive in defense of their rights and against Marina Greenwich S.A.". They consider the concessionaire's actions to be of extreme gravity, based on the alteration of acquired rights, the imposition of exorbitant economic conditions, and an evident abusive exploitation of a public domain concession.
Those affected denounce that the seriousness of the case increases due to the existence of numerous irregular and probably illegal actions, the pressure exerted on holders and businesses, and what they describe as a model aimed at maximizing profitability from a public concession at the expense of pre-existing rights. Therefore, they warn that they will pursue the case to its ultimate consequences and demand accountability at all necessary instances.
