The Hermandad de Nuestra Señora del Rocío de Benidorm has welcomed thirty new members, who received their medals at an event in the parish of Nuestra Señora de la Almudena, marking the beginning of preparations for the 2026 pilgrimage.

The event, held last Friday, took place at the canonical seat of the association, the parish of Nuestra Señora de la Almudena in Benidorm. During the ceremony, the new members received their commemorative medals, symbolizing their incorporation into the brotherhood.
The Councilor for Festivities, Mariló Cebreros, along with other representatives of the Municipal Corporation, attended the event, showing institutional support for the Hermandad. The president of the entity, María del Carmen Amador, and the board of directors welcomed the new associates.

The sermon was an emotional journey through feelings and the bond with the Camino, with very moving moments dedicated to his godparents in the Hermandad.

Prior to the medal ceremony, a mass was held. The event culminated with the reading of the Youth Sermon, delivered by Manuel Ponce Sances, the official tamborilero of the Hermandad. Ponce Sances, accompanied by his tamboril and rociera flute, offered an emotional speech, highlighting the connection with the Camino and dedicating words to his godparents.
Activities continue this weekend. Today, Saturday, at 6:30 PM, the Town Hall Assembly Hall will host the presentation of the 2026 Pilgrimage poster and the rociero sermon, which will be read by the musician from Huelva, David Carrasco Camacho. On Sunday, the church of Sant Jaume i Santa Anna will be the setting for a mass by the Hermandad, followed by the signing in the Book of Rules and the traditional pilgrimage, which will conclude with a day of fellowship at the parish of La Almudena.
