The educational community of Xàbia held a new protest this Thursday in front of the town hall to denounce the overcrowding of schools and demand solutions from the Department of Education.

With banners expressing explicit support for the teachers, families sought to decouple the educational collapse suffered by the municipality from the arrival of new residents. The protesters directly pointed to continuous budget cuts as the main reason for the lack of resources and overcrowding in Xàbia classrooms.
The situation is particularly critical in centers such as CEIP Graüll, where portable classrooms remain in use, and at IES La Mar, which faces a high risk of saturation. Furthermore, the elimination of units in other schools such as Port and Trenc d'Alba has worsened the unrest among staff and families.
The protest was supported by representatives from other centers in the Marina Alta region, who traveled to the town to voice their demands. Participants toured key points such as IES Antoni Llidó before gathering in front of the town hall and the church of Sant Bertomeu.
