The incident occurred at 2:20 AM at kilometer 981 of the N-340, heading towards Castellón, in front of the Magdalena hermitage. A taxi and two other vehicles were involved in the collision. Several medical units were dispatched to the scene.
Medical services confirmed the deaths of four people at the scene (three men and one woman). Additionally, six people were injured, all men, suffering from multiple traumas or contusions of varying severity.
According to available information, among the deceased are the taxi driver, a French national accompanying one of the drivers, and two young residents of Burriana who were traveling in a black BMW. The driver of this vehicle, a 19-year-old, is the only injured person with a less severe diagnosis.
Initial hypotheses suggest a head-on collision, although the investigation is ongoing. The young BMW driver was traveling towards Valencia, while the other two vehicles were heading towards Barcelona. The Civil Guard is handling the investigation.
Firefighters from Castellón's council had to intervene to extricate individuals trapped in the vehicles. After initial assistance, four of the injured were taken to the General Hospital of Castellón, and the remaining two to the Hospital de la Plana.
