The Ondara City Council continues to roll out its financially sustainable investment package funded by the treasury surplus. These initiatives, progressing through various execution phases, include a sustainable lighting plan, improvements to public parking areas, and the renovation of the municipal auditorium, with a total investment surpassing €200,000.
The interventions are part of a €1,150,000 credit modification approved for the 2025-2027 period, aimed at projects that enhance municipal services and infrastructure without creating future structural expenses.
The sustainable lighting plan, allocated €55,000, is currently in the contracting phase. The project involves installing solar-powered streetlights in various parts of the municipality, particularly in areas lacking adequate illumination, such as rural roads and districts, to bolster safety and visibility.
Regarding parking, the project for the conditioning and improvement of parking spaces, with a budget of €30,000, has already passed the administrative phase and is awaiting the commencement of works. The initiative includes enhancements to areas like the Doctor Barraquer parking lot, focusing on pavement, lighting, and space organization. The works are expected to be operational before summer.
In the cultural sphere, the project to upgrade the municipal auditorium, with an investment of €130,000, is in an advanced stage of technical definition. The intervention includes the renovation of seating and the adaptation of the space to current accessibility and safety regulations, potentially involving complementary actions to ensure adequate evacuation.
The City Council has emphasized that all these actions address real demands from the citizenry, gathered through neighborhood meetings and direct contact with residents. The investment plan was designed following technical and sustainability criteria, aiming for a lasting impact and improved quality of life without increasing municipal maintenance costs.
