Hiker Rescued by Helicopter on Montgó Mountain

A 41-year-old woman suffered a possible knee sprain while hiking a trail in the municipality of Xàbia.

The Provincial Fire Consortium of Alicante has carried out the rescue of a 41-year-old woman who was injured on Montgó mountain, in the municipality of Xàbia, after suffering a possible knee sprain.

The operation was activated at 10:04 AM after receiving an alert about a hiker who could not continue on her own. For the intervention, the Alpha 01 rescue helicopter and personnel from the Special Rescue Group (GER) were mobilized.
Once the victim was located on the trail, two rescuers and a medic descended to stabilize the affected joint with a compression bandage. Subsequently, the woman was lifted into the aircraft using a rescue triangle.
The helicopter then proceeded to the Dénia fire station, where a Basic Life Support (BLS) unit was waiting to transfer the patient to a medical center. The intervention officially concluded at 12:27 PM, after the coordinated assistance and evacuation of the injured person by air and ground emergency services.
