The passenger figures for Dénia's new public and municipal bus service have shown a 54% increase in just four days, already surpassing 6,000 users. The trend in the use of the five lines is clearly upward, with 1,879 travelers on Thursday, compared to 1,215 on the inaugural Monday.
Data provided by the city council indicates that between Monday, the launch day, and Thursday, a total of 6,054 passengers were recorded. Furthermore, cards for individuals under 18 and over 65 have already exceeded 500 units, with the service remaining free until the end of June.
In parallel, work has begun on installing six new bus shelters in strategic locations to protect passengers from sun and rain. These new infrastructures will be situated along Carretera de Les Marines (Urb. Las Velas and Urb. CHG), Calle Corona Boreal (near IES Sorts de la Mar), at the access points to Dénia Hospital, and on El Raset beach, next to the North Breakwater.
The sixth shelter does not yet have a defined location, as the initially proposed stop is not viable. Its placement will depend on the demand detected at various stops, as reported by the council.
