The 2026 season has been generous with rainfall, and if sports activities had to be suspended every weekend it rained, the competition would never end. Therefore, youth football continued in Dénia, despite the yellow level alert and the rain that, at times during the morning, fell with considerable force.
The intensity of the rainfall was reflected in the data from the Joan Chabàs station in Dénia, which by 12:00 PM had recorded 15 mm of rain since 8:30 AM, making it the most affected in the Marina Alta at that time, before being surpassed by Pego.
At the Diego Mena field, the gutters were overflowing as an children's category match was played between the Municipal School of Dénia and that of Benitatxell. Playing under the downpour was not easy, as the ball was slowed by the standing water, forcing coaches to adapt their instructions. Sometimes, the elements become an additional opponent on the field.
