Dénia's Volta a Peu 2026 Breaks Records with Over 2,000 Participants

The recent edition of the Volta a Peu de Dénia, held last Saturday, April 12, 2026, marked a before and after in the history of this popular race. Organized by Dénia Corre and the Dénia City Council, the event gathered an unprecedented number of participants, exceeding 2,000 athletes.
The event not only broke participation records but also public attendance records. Thousands of people gathered along the ten-kilometer route to cheer on the runners, creating a festive and vibrant atmosphere. The enthusiasm experienced on Marqués de Campo street, the central point for the start and finish of the race, was particularly noteworthy.
This stage of the Volta a Peu de la Marina Alta is characterized by being accessible and practically flat, making it attractive to a wide range of athletes. The city of Dénia was adorned with the colors of numerous clubs, reflecting the spirit of gathering and sports celebration that defines this event.
In the men's category, César López revalidated his absolute champion title, completing the race in a time of 30 minutes and 58 seconds, at an impressive pace of 3 minutes and 7 seconds per kilometer. The podium was completed by Moha Rida, from CE Llebeig Xàbia, and Marco García, from CA Baleària Diànium, both with a time of 31 minutes and 48 seconds.
As for the women's category, Eri Yonamine, from CD Kamikazes Gang, claimed victory with a time of 37 minutes and 19 seconds, averaging 3 minutes and 45 seconds per kilometer. Yonamine took advantage of the absence of Mª Isabel Ferrer, the current circuit leader, to achieve this triumph. Second place went to Cristina Roselló, while Sofía Martínez, from CA Corremundos, secured third place.
