During the week-long control, the Local Police of Dénia monitored 1,500 vehicles, of which only 65 were traveling above the permitted speed limit. This percentage, representing just 4.3% of the total, has been positively assessed by authorities, although they acknowledge that further work is needed to improve road safety.
One of the most encouraging aspects of the study is the almost complete reduction of speeding in areas previously considered problematic. This success is attributed to the implementation of control measures, such as radars installed on major avenues in Dénia, including Miguel Hernández, Joan Fuster, and Alicante.
Nevertheless, the Local Police have identified other areas of the municipality where new measures are still necessary to enhance safety. This conclusion could pave the way for expanding radar surveillance to other road axes in the town, with the aim of continuing to reduce accidents and improve safety for all road users.
“"We continue to work to reduce accidents and improve everyone's safety."
