On April 24, the Calp City Council, through the Department of Culture, will launch a new free theatrical route through the old town, titled 'Cavanilles in Calp', to bring local history closer to residents and visitors.

This cultural initiative, which will begin at 7:00 PM with a meeting point at the Casa de Cultura, will offer a didactic and entertaining immersion into the municipality's past. The tour will be led by the figure of the botanist and naturalist Antonio José Cavanilles, who already documented the site of the Baños de la Reina in 1792.
During the visit, participants will have the opportunity to encounter historical figures linked to Calp, such as Admiral Roger de Llúria, the Mudejar leader Al-Azraq, Napoleonic soldiers, Barbary pirates, and the remembered Senyoreta Amparito. This combination of theater and historical dissemination will transform the streets of the old town into a living stage, highlighting local heritage.
Participation in the route is free, but places are limited, so prior registration is essential. Those interested can formalize their reservation by contacting the Tourist Office via email at turismo@ajcalp.es or by calling 965 836 920 and 965 838 532.

"The City Council continues to bet on a cultural program that combines entertainment and dissemination, and that allows rediscovering the historical identity of our municipality through innovative and accessible formats."
