The Calp City Council, through the Department of Culture, is launching a new free theatrical route through the old town, titled 'Cavanilles in Calp', which will allow residents and visitors to delve into the municipality's past in a didactic and participatory way starting April 24.

This cultural proposal, which will begin on April 24 at 7:00 PM from the Casa de Cultura, will be guided by the figure of the botanist and naturalist Antonio José Cavanilles. Cavanilles, who already documented the Baños de la Reina site in 1792, will lead participants through various episodes of Calp's local history.
During the tour, attendees will have the opportunity to encounter historical figures linked to Calp, such as Admiral Róger de Llúria, the Mudejar leader Al-Azraq, Napoleonic soldiers, Barbary pirates, and the remembered Senyoreta Amparito. This combination of theater, historical dissemination, and heritage enhancement will transform the streets of the old town into a living stage.
Participation in this activity is free, but places are limited, so prior registration is essential. Those interested can formalize their reservation by contacting the Calp Tourist Office.

"The City Council continues to bet on a cultural program that combines entertainment and dissemination, and that allows rediscovering the historical identity of our municipality through innovative and accessible formats."
