The resolution, officially received today at the Els Poblets Town Hall, means that both councilors will cease to be part of the Socialist Municipal Group and will become non-attached councilors. This measure concludes an internal process that the party describes as guaranteeing, respecting defense rights and statutes.
The decision stems from the signing of a censure motion with the Popular Party in August 2025, an action that the PSOE considers a serious violation of its internal rules and principles of loyalty. However, the motion did not succeed thanks to the opposing vote of another socialist councilor, Eva Candel.
This process has put everyone in their place: within the socialist project those who defend socialist ideals with conviction and loyalty, and outside of it those who move away from progressive ideals and choose to pact with the right.
The PSPV-PSOE of Marina Alta has expressed its satisfaction with the resolution, emphasizing the importance of coherence and loyalty to the political project. With this decision, the party seeks to strengthen its image and values before the citizenry.
Following the official registration of the resolution, the Els Poblets Town Hall will have to report to the municipal plenary, modify the composition of the socialist group, and appoint Eva Candel as the new spokesperson. Furthermore, municipal representation in collegiate bodies will be updated, replacing the expelled councilors with Candel.
The PSOE reaffirms Eva Candel as the leader of the socialist project in Els Poblets, highlighting her rigorous and solvent management. The party trusts her to build and strengthen the project ahead of the 2027 municipal elections, based on responsibility and public service.
