Dénia's Municipal Market has concluded its 71st anniversary celebrations with the second Figatell Fest, a day that filled the venue with residents and visitors enjoying local produce and music.

The celebration of the 71st anniversary of Dénia's Municipal Market culminated this Saturday with a large-scale event centered around the second edition of the Figatell Fest. The event transformed the market into the gastronomic heart of La Marina Alta, attracting hundreds of residents and visitors.
From early morning, attendees were able to taste the traditional figatell, offered by the market's butcher shops at a popular price of 0.50 euros each. Local bars Bonanza, Magallanes, Kko Papua, and Viciano also joined the festivities, serving popular lunches featuring the figatell as the star.
The day included the 'We Cook With You' segment, where journalists Inma Celda (COPE), Javier Justo (Dénia.com), and Kevin Carrió (Dénia FM), guided by chef José Manuel López (Ca Seko), showcased the versatility of market cuisine in a show cooking. This activity follows up on the event held the previous Thursday, where other press colleagues created an innovative sepia figatell version.
The event was supported by the mayor, Vicent Grimalt, who highlighted the value of traditional cuisine within Dénia's status as a Unesco Creative City of Gastronomy, and by the Market Councilor, María José García.
Beyond the stalls, customers could participate in a prize wheel with direct rewards via the D-Dénia app. The musical entertainment began at 11:30 AM with a concert by the group Lolipop on Magallanes street, where tents and dining areas were set up, extending the celebration until 5 PM.
