Socialist spokesperson Patricia Puerta urged the mayor to "fulfill promises to Castelló and truly defend" citizens' interests before the Consell. Puerta stated that Carrasco "cannot remain silent" while the Generalitat "forgets" these fundamental projects and has "the obligation to pressure" for the works to begin "now".
The initiative follows parliamentary responses from the Conselleria d'Educació in Les Corts, suggesting a tender for the works not before late 2027 or early 2028. Given this scenario, the institutional declaration proposes that the municipal plenary demand the Generalitat immediately advance the projects and guarantee the start of works as soon as possible.
The socialist text also calls on the Conselleria de Educación, Cultura y Universidades to "accelerate" the drafting and processing of architectural projects and all pending administrative procedures. "We are not talking about a technical or bureaucratic problem, we are talking about a lack of political will and real investment for Castelló," affirmed Puerta, who stressed that conservatories "are an educational, cultural, and social necessity that cannot remain stalled".
The proposal further suggests that the city council formally express its concern over the project's paralysis and the lack of budgetary execution, demanding a "firm, clear, and scheduled" commitment for the construction of this infrastructure.
Finally, the proposal includes institutional support for the educational community of the conservatories (students, families, teachers, and staff), recognizing their effort and contribution. "Those who keep the conservatories alive deserve much more than unfulfilled promises," Puerta defended.
From the PSPV, they recall that the initiative must first pass the Spokespersons' Board, where a single veto can prevent it from reaching the municipal plenary. Patricia Puerta warned that PP and Vox "will have to decide if they are on Castelló's side or on the side of the Generalitat's delays".
