The COR V5 Waste Consortium is strengthening its collaboration in informative sessions organized by the Mancomunitat de la Canal de Navarrés to prepare citizens for the upcoming implementation of the door-to-door waste collection system.

The itinerant campaign aims to directly convey information to residents in each municipality. To date, sessions have already been held in Anna, Navarrés, and Chella, and will continue in the coming days across the remaining towns in the Canal region. Most of the district will begin with this new system in June.
Environmental educators from the Consortium participate in these meetings, tasked with answering questions and explaining how the new collection model will work. The president of the COR, Elio Cabanes, emphasized that the involvement of these professionals seeks to provide close advice to residents.

"Their presence reinforces the entity's commitment to providing citizens with the necessary tools, thus achieving, together, sustainable and responsible waste management for our environment."

During the sessions, residents are informed about this system, which is based on collecting waste directly from each home's door according to a fixed schedule for separation by fractions. In La Canal de Navarrés, collection will be organized as follows: organic waste on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays; packaging on Wednesdays and Saturdays; paper and cardboard on Fridays; and residual waste on Mondays. Additionally, for special situations such as diapers or animal excrement, these wastes can also be deposited on other days, provided they are delivered in sealed bags.
The Consortium reminds that its main function is to manage waste treatment in the regions of Vall d’Albaida, La Costera, La Canal de Navarrés, Valle de Ayora, and La Safor, ensuring compliance with legal requirements for waste management and recycling. Its work focuses on the treatment, valorization, and disposal of waste, a mandatory service aimed at converting waste into new resources and simplifying this process as much as possible for users.
The establishment of these types of consortia responds to the need to comply with European Union directives and the national regulatory framework set by Law 7/2022 on Waste and Contaminated Soils for a Circular Economy. These supramunicipal structures emerge due to the difficulty many local councils face in independently meeting recycling targets, reducing landfill waste, and implementing advanced infrastructures. The grouping of municipalities thus allows for optimized resources, improved operational efficiency, and ensures professional and sustainable waste management for all citizens.
