The Torrent City Council has given the green light to the contracting file for the renovation and improvement of CEIP Juan XXIII, a comprehensive project valued at over 3.1 million euros that will modernize its facilities.

This project, framed within the Edificant Plan of the Generalitat Valenciana, seeks a deep renovation of the Early Childhood Education and Primary Education buildings. The main objective is to optimize accessibility conditions, energy efficiency, and safety, as well as outdoor spaces, to benefit both students and teachers.
The Local Government Board has approved the file, which will allow the tender process for the works to begin through an open procedure. This marks the start of the administrative process that will culminate in the awarding of the works and the commencement of the actions, with an estimated duration of 12 months once they begin.
Among the most notable interventions are the renovation of bathrooms and changing rooms, the installation of two elevators and new ramps to improve universal accessibility, and the incorporation of solar panels to increase energy efficiency. The electrical installation and lighting systems will also be completely renewed, in addition to the improvement of patios and outdoor spaces, including landscaped areas and play areas.
The project also includes the adaptation of the facilities to the Technical Building Code (CTE) and current regulations on safety. Likewise, the kitchen and school dining room will be improved and equipped, and complementary actions such as painting and signage will be carried out. These improvements are crucial, as the Infant building dates back to 1975 and the Primary building to 1995, requiring modernization to adapt to current standards.

"The approval of this file represents a decisive step to make a long-awaited renovation a reality for the educational community of CEIP Juan XXIII. We are talking about a comprehensive action that will improve accessibility, safety, energy efficiency, and the quality of educational spaces for both students and teachers."

To guarantee the continuity of educational activity during the works, the project contemplates the installation of provisional prefabricated modules. These modules will allow classrooms and spaces to be freed up as the different phases of construction progress, ensuring that teaching activity is not interrupted.

"This intervention is a clear commitment to the quality of education, because improving the center's spaces also means improving student learning and well-being. A more accessible, modern, and adapted school directly impacts students' daily lives."
