Residents of Albal have reported an act of vandalism against the monolith in Correos Park, dedicated to the victims of the deadly hailstorm, demanding prompt replacement and an investigation into the incident.

According to reports, on April 15, someone tore off the commemorative plaque, destroyed candles and stones, and left the area completely damaged. This memorial, created on July 18, 2025 by residents, included an olive tree as a symbol of peace and collective mourning.
Currently, they denounce that the space has been desecrated, with the plaque on the ground, broken tiles, and commemorative elements destroyed or scattered. The plaque bore the motto “Neither oblivion nor forgiveness”.

"We consider that the act aims to erase memory and we describe it as an attack on the dignity of the victims of the tragedy."
