The Torrent City Council has approved the tender for the comprehensive renovation of CEIP Juan XXIII, an action involving an investment of over 3.1 million euros to modernize its facilities.

This project, part of the Edificant Plan of the Generalitat Valenciana, will affect the Early Childhood and Primary Education buildings of the educational center, located near the barranco de l’Horteta. The works aim to improve accessibility with the installation of two elevators and the creation of new ramps, as well as the complete renovation of bathrooms and changing rooms.
To advance towards greater energy efficiency, solar panels will be included, and the electrical installation and lighting systems will be updated. Patios and outdoor spaces will also be renovated, improving pavements, garden areas, and play and sports areas to ensure greater functionality and safety. The facilities will be adapted to the Technical Building Code (CTE) and current regulations on safety and accessibility. Another improvement will be the adaptation of the kitchen and school canteen to current standards.

"The approval of this file represents a decisive step towards making a much-anticipated renovation a reality for the educational community of CEIP Juan XXIII. We are talking about a comprehensive action that will improve accessibility, safety, energy efficiency, and the quality of educational spaces for both students and teachers."

The center, with the Early Childhood building constructed in 1975 and the Primary building in 1995, requires this modernization to comply with current quality education and sustainability conditions. To ensure the continuity of educational activity during the works, prefabricated modules will be installed to progressively free up spaces. The works contract will have an estimated duration of 12 months from its start once the project has been awarded.
