The Torrent City Council has initiated the fourth phase of redevelopment in the historic Alter quarter, with an investment of nearly 1.9 million euros to transform key streets and improve their accessibility and infrastructure.

This comprehensive project focuses on streets such as Sant Onofre, Santa Llúcia, Catarroja, and Santísima Trinidad. The works include the creation of single platforms to eliminate architectural barriers, as well as the renovation of sanitation, drinking water, and storm drain networks. These improvements are essential to ensure the safety and efficient functioning of the neighborhood, especially in the face of adverse weather events.
On Sant Onofre street, the service system is being completely renovated, with new storm drain networks and paving adapted to current accessibility regulations. This phase consolidates work carried out in previous years, facilitating pedestrian mobility, limiting vehicular traffic, and contributing to the reduction of emissions and environmental noise in the area.

"The works in Alter are progressing at a good pace and are already a visible reality for residents. We are transforming this historic neighborhood with a comprehensive action that improves its accessibility, renews its infrastructure, and dignifies the urban environment. This action is not just a construction project; it is an investment in the quality of life for the residents of Alter, who will enjoy more comfortable, safer, and better-prepared streets for the future."

the mayor of Torrent
The head of Urban Planning and Environment explained that a very complete intervention is being carried out that not only improves the image of the neighborhood but also acts deeply on its infrastructures. The renovation of networks, improvement of drainage, and adaptation of streets to a more accessible and sustainable model are priorities. This phase allows for the continuation of the revitalization of a neighborhood with notable historical value, making it more attractive for residents and visitors.
This redevelopment project is part of a broader urban regeneration initiative that has been transforming Torrent's historic center for years, seeking to preserve its heritage and improve the quality of life for its inhabitants.
