For three days, officers from the Sedaví Local Police, trained in the VioGén system, have informed students about the victim protection protocol. The sessions addressed, with relatable examples, the various forms of violence that can occur in adolescent relationships, ranging from physical or psychological to sexual or economic.
Special emphasis was placed on warning signs and debunking common misconceptions among young people. A key focus of the training was identifying normalized behaviors that can lead to violent situations, such as mobile phone control, jealousy, or emotional pressure, which were central to classroom discussions.
Furthermore, the cycle of violence and the role of security forces in victim protection were explained. The goal is for students to be aware of available resources and know how to act in potential cases within their environment. The methodology was dynamic, using visual materials and practical examples, which fostered student engagement.
This initiative responds to a direct request from the institute, which had expressed the need to address this type of training in the educational setting due to growing concern about how certain behavioral patterns are reproduced in youth relationships.
