The Quart de Poblet City Council has announced a 23 million euro investment to transform its industrial parks, aiming to repair damages and ensure their resilience against torrential rains.

This significant economic injection is part of the 32.1 million euros that the Spanish Government has transferred to the council for reconstruction works. This amount adds to the nearly 190 million that the State has already mobilized in the municipality for direct aid to families, self-employed individuals, and businesses.
In a key meeting with the Association of Business Owners of Quart de Poblet (AEQP) and the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation (CHJ), the mayor detailed the distribution of funds. The North Zone will receive 13 million euros for repairs and infrastructure, while the South Zone will have 10 million euros for adaptation and improvement.
The actions will not be limited to patching up the damages from the 2024 storm — such as road subsidence or broken curbs — but will focus on preventive engineering. The project includes the installation of new storm drains, a thorough review of catch basins, and the construction of lamination ponds, a key component for retaining water and preventing the sewage system from collapsing.

"We are going to act jointly and in a planned manner so that our companies have the best conditions to grow and generate employment."

Technicians from the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation have also presented their complementary plans to reduce the danger of the Saleta ravine and the Poyo rambla. Planned works include the creation of controlled storage areas, the construction of protective embankments, and the diversion with the creation of a greenway in the Saleta ravine.
Beyond industry, the 32.1 million in state funds will allow for the execution of five other strategic actions for the municipality. These include the rehabilitation of the Auditori Molí de Vila, the recovery of the Turia River Natural-Fluvial Park, the reconstruction of rural roads, the repair of playgrounds and green areas, and the restoration of the Nature Interpretation Center and municipal premises. Following the approval of the valued reports, the next step will be the tender for the works, marking the beginning of a stage of resilience and modernization for Quart de Poblet.
