The Picanya City Council has initiated an ambitious phase for the recovery of rural roads damaged by the October 29, 2024 flood, with an investment close to three million euros.

Following initial emergency repairs, the Picanya council, with the support of the Central Government, has launched a broader project. This project aims not only to restore the roads but also to reinforce their safety and functionality for agricultural activity and local mobility.
The municipal technical services prepared a detailed report outlining all necessary actions, which has been validated by state technicians without any amendments. This approval is crucial for allocating the planned investment in improving these essential infrastructures for the municipality.
The project includes various interventions such as resurfacing, embankment repair, work on the irrigation hydraulic network, and the renewal of vertical and horizontal signage. These actions will be distributed across two areas of the municipal territory to cover the most affected zones.
In the northern area, work will be carried out on roads such as Alaquàs, Faitanar, Fiorentina, Foia, Realenc, or Regal, as well as on sections near the AVE line and the CV-36. In the southern area, works will reach the Pedrera road, the road adjacent to the FGV railway line, and the Roda rural road.
With this action, Picanya reaffirms its commitment to the recovery of its rural environment and the improvement of infrastructures after the meteorological event that significantly affected the municipality.
