The town of l'Horta Sud has become the starting point for a tour that will extend until October, with a final date yet to be confirmed. From the stage, the group thanked the commitment of the Picassent City Council and the facilities provided to make an event of this magnitude possible.
The first day featured preliminary performances by Sociologia Animal, a group from l'Horta Sud closely linked to the social response after the DANA, and Tito Pontet, a formation of Caribbean and Mediterranean rhythms connected to the musical universe of La Gossa Sorda. Its vocalist, Alba Terol, is also part, along with Anna Millo, of the vocal team accompanying the band on this tour.
The concert was also a reunion with a good part of the Valencian music scene and with artists who have shared a path with the group or who have grown up with La Gossa Sorda as a reference. Auxili, La Maria, Sva-ters, Julio Maloa, former vocalist of La Raíz, and the Jove Muixeranga de València participated.
The show, lasting more than two and a half hours, included 29 songs and combined the presentation of the new track A Tornallom, which gives its name to the tour, with a review of the band's most emblematic repertoire. Songs from albums such as Vigila, Garrotades, Saó, L'últim heretge and La polseguera were played, in addition to some recovered pieces from the demo.
The political and social dimension also played a central role in the day. The event was hosted by journalist Manuela Alandes. Representatives from the field intervened, such as Nando Durà, from the housing movement, with the Sindicat de Llogateres and the Sindicat d'Habitatge de València, and from the three associations of DANA victims.
In a concert held in l'Horta Sud, the DANA held a prominent place both in the speeches and in the political meaning of the night. The band announced a charity T-shirt promoted together with the association Mai Més, whose profits will be used to cover the entity's legal action in the courts of Catarroja in the major case.
Palestine Drinks, a non-profit company in charge of concert beverages, also played a prominent role. The profits will be allocated to public services in the Palestinian territories.
This Saturday, the second day in Picassent will be held, marked by the arrival of the Correllengua flame and focused on the commemoration of April 25, the day of the Battle of Almansa. The concert will start later to facilitate attendance at the demonstration called for 6:00 p.m. in the Plaça de Sant Agustí in València, a call that La Gossa Sorda has made together with Acció Cultural del País Valencià. Before the band, JazzWoman will perform, and after the concert, DJ Nonai Sound will close the night.
