A court in Catarroja has summoned the former news director of À Punt to testify, in connection with the coverage by Valencian public media during the DANA (cold drop) on October 29, 2029.

The role of Valencian public media during the DANA of October 29, 2029, and the preceding days has gained prominence in the Catarroja court. Until now, in some interlocutory orders, the judge had already referred to the announcements made by both television and radio about the arrival of the meteorological phenomenon.
Following the testimony of the head of meteorology, the magistrate has incorporated various written and audiovisual documents into the case file. In a recent order, the judge has summoned the former news director to testify, thus responding to a request made by the representation of Ciudadanos.

"Five days before, the need to plan the coverage of the consequences that the cold drop would have on the territory was already evident."

The former news director was dismissed from his position in May 2025. His work at the helm of the newsroom was praised by both the staff and the public. À Punt's news coverage on the day of the DANA and subsequent days was recognized with an Ondas Award.
