The streets of Benetússer were filled with runners for the 33rd edition of the Volta a Peu, an event organized by the Benetússer Athletics Club with the collaboration of the City Council. The race, a consolidated fixture in the regional sports calendar and part of the Horta Sud Circuit, attracted hundreds of participants for a day of community and solidarity.
The main race saw 281 adult runners participate, while the children's races included 97 local children. A festive atmosphere accompanied the competition, highlighting the deep roots of popular athletics in Benetússer.
In the men's category, local athlete Vicente Cano was the first to cross the finish line on the 7.5-kilometer course. The podium was completed by Iván Robles Collado (Massanassa) in second place and Iván Del Barrio in third. In the women's category, Ainhoa Martín González (Club Cárnicas Serrano) secured a dominant victory, followed by Ana Amaro Reyes (Club Correcaminos) and Raquel Ventimilla Gálvez.
The race also stood out for its social commitment. Thanks to the support of Caixa Popular Benetússer, 378 euros were raised, which will be donated to the Against Cancer Association of Benetússer to support research and patient/family support services.
