The municipality of Albal has successfully concluded its Book Week, a consolidated event that brought together reading and culture enthusiasts with a varied program for all ages.
The initiative, driven by the Culture and Commerce departments, received collaboration from ACIXEA, the Conselleria d’Economia Sostenible, Sectors Productius, Comerç i Treball of the Generalitat Valenciana, Unió Gremial, and the SARC of the Culture area of the Diputación de Valencia. All these entities designed a diverse program, intended to attract audiences of all ages and encourage reading habits.
For several days, Albal became a cultural meeting point with proposals that included literary presentations, family shows, poetry recitals, oral narration, and the Book Fair. The program kicked off on April 17 with the presentation of the book El Sant Caliç de la Catedral de Valencia, by author Jorge Manuel Rodríguez, at the Casa de la Cultura. The day continued with a recital by the Associació Cultural Amics de la Poesia de Silla.
One of the highlights was on April 19 with the celebration of the V Book Fair of Albal, organized by ACIXEA in the courtyard of CEIP San Blas, which was a great success in attendance. During the morning, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., residents who love reading enjoyed a very special day where, in addition to bookstores, different local associations offered their literary proposals to the public. The event featured book sales points, children's games, workshops, and literary presentations, consolidating itself as a dynamic and participatory space.
The program concluded on April 23, Book Day, with activities at the Municipal Library. In the afternoon, the children's storytelling Més enllà del bosc took place, aimed at children aged five and older, followed by oral narration for adults Els contes com les cireres.
With this initiative, the Albal City Council has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting reading and cultural dynamism, offering an accessible, diverse, and quality agenda. Book Week has thus consolidated itself as one of the most outstanding cultural events on the local calendar.
