The Catarroja City Council, through the Department of Social Welfare, has made effective the payment of extraordinary aid to 283 people with grade 3 dependency or reduced mobility affected by the DANA of October 29, 2024.
This aid, funded by the State, is part of the support line of Royal Decree-Law 7/2024. The specific allocation for this group amounts to 899,794.40 euros, included in the global subsidy of 1,927,920 euros granted by the Government of Spain to Catarroja to mitigate the effects of the storm.

"We are talking about a particularly vulnerable group, which suffered the consequences of the DANA with much greater intensity. Many of these people have mobility difficulties or need constant support, and emergency situations like the one we experienced multiply the risks and difficulties."
The councilor emphasized that the main objective of this aid is
to provide an effective response to those who needed it most
and highlighted the municipal work in its processing. The council has worked intensively to ensure that this state aid reached the beneficiaries efficiently.
Furthermore, the councilor pointed out that this aid not only represents economic support but also a recognition of the vulnerable situation experienced by many families in the town. The municipal commitment is to continue implementing measures for social recovery after the DANA, as part of a broader emergency response strategy, with special attention to the most vulnerable groups.
