A high-speed pursuit in Alaquàs culminated in a National Police vehicle crashing into a garage and subsequently catching fire, leading to the hospitalization of a woman due to smoke inhalation and minor injuries to the officers.

The incident occurred around 8:30 PM on Saturday, when National Police officers initiated a pursuit of a high-end vehicle that had evaded a checkpoint between the municipalities of Alaquàs and Aldaia. During the chase, the driver of the patrol car, known as a 'zeta', lost control and crashed into the garage of a private house at number four on Sant Pasqual street in Alaquàs.
Due to the severe impact, the police vehicle caught fire, requiring the intervention of four fire brigades from Torrent and Paterna to extinguish the flames. The fire generated a large amount of smoke that affected the first floor of the residence, where a woman with reduced mobility was located. Firefighters had to evacuate her, and she was subsequently attended to by emergency medical services.
The two officers in the hybrid vehicle sustained superficial injuries, including cuts and gashes to the head, according to witnesses. All injured parties were treated in situ by SAMU paramedics. The mayor of Alaquàs, Toni Saura, reported that the resident, although in good condition, was transferred to the Hospital General de València for a full medical examination, following health protocols. The town hall has offered her temporary accommodation, as the smoke reached the upper floor of the house, making it uninhabitable until properly ventilated.

"The resident of Alaquàs is well, although she has been transferred by SAMU to the Hospital General de València for a medical examination to rule out any significant injury, as per health protocol."

A patrol from the Local Police of Alaquàs joined the pursuit to provide support, but after the accident, they assisted their colleagues from the National Police. The fleeing vehicle, believed to be a Mercedes, has not yet been located. The police car has since been removed from the scene by a municipal crane and taken to a public impound lot.
