The sentence comes after the defendants admitted to the facts. The court has set the penalty for these individuals, who allegedly acted in exchange for 30,000 euros, of which they had already received 15,000 as an advance. The prosecution had requested sentences ranging from four and a half to twenty years and nine months in prison for crimes such as attempted murder, belonging to a criminal group, illegal possession of weapons, and concealment.
The execution attempt took place on December 16, 2022, when the victim, who had been under surveillance for three months, left his home in Puçol to go to work. Security camera footage was crucial in proving what happened: it shows two attackers arriving on a motorcycle and shooting the man as he opened his car door. Although the shot was fired from a few meters away, the victim managed to dodge it and escape by starting the car.
During the trial, it was not possible to identify who hired the sicarios or who commissioned the murder. The Civil Guard expedited the arrest of those involved, suspecting they were preparing another attempt on the businessman from Puçol.
