The Civil Guard has arrested a 58-year-old Spanish national in Villargordo del Cabriel (Utiel-Requena) for transporting 36.5 kilograms of hashish hidden in a false compartment of a car.

The incident occurred on June 24th when the involved car collided with a truck. The driver of the car abandoned the scene of the accident despite the vehicle's damage, which raised the suspicions of the Requena Civil Guard Traffic officers.
A patrol was dispatched to a nearby service area, where they located the driver. After searching the damaged vehicle, officers discovered 51 sealed and pressed packages containing the drug in a false compartment.
Consequently, the driver was arrested for a crime against public health. The Civil Guard of Utiel has taken charge of the relevant investigation.
