Burjassot Celebrates XXXVIII Senior Citizens Week with Diverse Program

The town in l'Horta Nord offers cultural, sports, and social activities from May 4th to 8th for its elderly residents.

The town of Burjassot will host its XXXVIII Senior Citizens Week from May 4th to 8th, an initiative offering a wide range of activities designed for the municipality's elderly residents.

The program, organized by the Department for Senior Citizens, includes music, workshops, exhibitions, communal meals, and dances. Activities will commence on Monday, May 4th at 09:30 AM at the Villa del Pilar Social Center with a gerontogymnastics workshop exhibition, followed by a tai chi exhibition at 10:45 AM.
In the afternoon, at 06:00 PM, the La Granja Social Center will host a poetry recital. On Tuesday, May 5th, the Tierno Galván Social Center will be the venue for an informative talk by the Burjassot Diabetics Association and a healthy lunch at 10:30 AM. In the afternoon, Villa del Pilar will come alive with playbacks and popular songs by Grupo Compás and a performance by the Rondalla and Choir La Amistad de Burjassot.
On Wednesday, May 6th, the Bailén Social Center will repeat the talk and healthy lunch. Additionally, the traditional communal meal will be held at the Villa del Pilar Social Center, including dancing. Tickets for the meal, with a contribution of 5 euros, can be collected from Thursday, April 23rd at the same center, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with a capacity for 280 diners.
The week will continue on Thursday, May 7th with an open class of the sevillanas workshop at the Villa del Pilar Social Center at 11:30 AM. In the afternoon, the Tierno Galván Social Center will host a dance exhibition by the Association of Retirees. The closing ceremony will be on Friday, May 8th at the Villa del Pilar Social Center, featuring a talk by the National Police on cybersecurity at 11:00 AM and a farewell party with snacks and dancing starting at 05:00 PM. For this final activity, tickets can be acquired from April 23rd at the center, with preference given to residents registered in Burjassot.
