Valencian teachers have announced an indefinite strike set to begin on May 11, following a failure to reach an agreement with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities to improve their working conditions.

This pressure measure, which has no end date, aims to influence the Consell during the final weeks of the school year. Among the main demands is a salary increase that would cost the autonomous public coffers between 300 and 525 million euros annually.
The decision to strike was made during an online assembly convened by the trade unions STEPV, CSIF, CCOO, and UGT. Initial conditions for the demands to be presented in the coming weeks were established at this meeting.
The mobilization is being launched due to the lack of consensus with the Ministry, led by Carmen Ortí, in negotiations to improve the conditions of Valencian teaching staff.
