According to the written statement submitted to the court, FGV management indicated that, beyond general meteorological alerts, no specific instructions or recommendations were received from the Ministry of Emergencies concerning the Command Post, located in the València Sud railway complex, between October 24 and 29, 2024.
This report is one of three that the court investigating the catastrophe has incorporated into the case. The others include one from the General Directorate of Natural and Animal Environment, identifying an environmental agent for summons, and one from the Ministry of Emergencies, identifying the driver assigned on the day of the DANA to the former Minister of Justice and Interior and an investigated party in the case.
The judge agreed on April 9 to summon the former Minister's driver as a witness, at the request of the PSPV representation. This request was made because individuals who accompanied the former Minister on her journeys on the day of the DANA, which resulted in 230 fatalities in the province, gave evasive testimonies regarding conversations held in the car.
At the València Sud center of FGV, according to a report submitted to the case by FETAP-CGT, private security personnel observed around 7:40 PM a large mass of water rapidly approaching the facilities. They had just enough time to abandon their posts and move to the station platform for higher ground and cover.
Additionally, about a hundred users who had arrived on the last trains had to remain in this facility until their evacuation the following morning. Workers from Workshops, Fixed Installations, and other services with dependencies in València Sud were also caught at their workplaces and had to take refuge from the water that flooded the entire complex. By approximately 8:00 PM, the flood had already devastated all facilities of the València Sud complex.
