The incidents primarily occurred in the Patraix and Abastos districts, where numerous businesses reported robberies in recent weeks. Affected establishments include eight laundries, two perfumeries, a vehicle rental shop, a car wash, and a bar, all suffering material damage and economic losses from the assaults.
The loot obtained by the now-detained individual exceeds 6,000 euros in cash, in addition to stolen computer equipment and other items taken from the various premises, as well as clothing used during the commission of the crimes.
The investigation began last February, after several robberies with similar characteristics were detected. Subsequently, agents initiated analysis and surveillance work, confirming that all incidents followed the same modus operandi, pointing to a single perpetrator.
The inquiries eventually identified the suspect, who would hide in a residence in the Fuensanta neighborhood after committing the robberies, which complicated his exact location and delayed his arrest for weeks.
Once the necessary evidence was gathered, agents from the Abastos and Patraix police stations established a joint operation that allowed them to intercept the suspect and proceed with his arrest, ending the series of robberies that had caused concern among local merchants. Following the arrest, agents searched the detainee's home, where they found three stolen cash boxes and parts of similar ones, in addition to the 6,000 euros in cash, computer equipment from the robberies, and various garments used during the assaults. The detainee, who has numerous police records, was brought before a judge, who ordered his provisional imprisonment.
