The far-right formation has turned immigration into its main tool for monitoring the head of the Consell, whom it invested with its votes four months ago. In recent plenary sessions of the autonomous chamber, Vox representatives have consistently introduced issues related to the migrant population, either through Non-Legislative Proposals, interpellations, or oral questions to councilors.
This strategy has intensified, bringing the issue to the center of the debate that usually generates the most political expectation: the control sessions with President Llorca. The foreign population represents almost one in five inhabitants in the Comunitat Valenciana, with approximately 100,000 people in an irregular situation, 1.8% of the total. This percentage, despite being small, accounts for 80% of the questions Vox has posed to the president.
“"What is the economic impact of mass immigration promotion policies on public services in the Valencian Community, especially in the minor reception system, and what measures does it plan to adopt to prevent their deterioration and possible collapse?"
The PSPV spokesperson, José Muñoz, and Joan Baldoví, from Compromís, have also registered questions for the next control session, focusing on government management and its interests. However, Vox's insistence on immigration has led to a situation where President Llorca, like his predecessor Carlos Mazón, has accepted the voxist discursive framework to maintain their support.
This reiteration of the topic, according to analysts, seeks to position immigration at the center of public debate, an issue that electorally favors Vox, despite the irregular migrant population representing a minority of the total inhabitants of the Comunitat Valenciana.
