This allocation, which makes the region the main beneficiary, will be distributed among three major projects. The initiative with the largest economic endowment is the renovation of the Castle of the Lordship in Alfara del Patriarca, with an investment of 997,000 euros.
The provincial corporation will enable the use of this Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC), with roots in the 14th century and a 16th-century palace structure, as the new town hall. Also known as the Castle of Cruïlles, it has undergone numerous phases of abandonment and various uses over the centuries. Following an initial intervention by the Provincial Council in 1980, this new economic commitment will ensure its definitive protection and adaptation to administrative and citizen needs.
In Vinalesa, the Provincial Council will allocate 112,000 euros for the restoration of the civic center located in the Old Silk Factory. The work will focus on the rehabilitation of the roof, including a specific treatment against termites and the adaptation of the interior walls.
Furthermore, in Albalat dels Sorells, 143,000 euros will be invested in its Palace Castle, a fundamental piece of Valencian civil Gothic architecture from the 15th century. The investment will serve to restore various dependencies of this property, protected as a BIC since 1985.
“"This initiative is a direct response to the inaction of previous years, seeking to end an administrative silence that has lasted eight years by responding with actions and investment."
The president of the Provincial Council has framed these aids within a strategy that already totals 12 million across the province and is intended to be expanded with an additional five million to address all requests from local councils. He emphasized that it is a tool for the future, the greatest boost to Valencian heritage in the last decade, a strategic commitment that seeks to invest in history by respecting the past and looking towards the future, generating employment and tourism.
