The 10 Sentidos Festival hosts Badke(remix), a choreographic piece that will close its XV edition at the Teatro Principal in Valencia on May 26, offering a vision of Palestinian reality.

The piece Badke(remix), co-produced by laGeste and Stereo48, is presented as a conscious inversion of dabke, the Palestinian folk dance, and aims to be a collective cry under the direction of Amir Sabra and Ata Khatab. This new version claims full artistic authorship for Palestinian hands, differentiating itself from the original work that toured the world with a European perspective.
The inclusion of this work in the festival's program is not accidental, but responds to the theme of the XV edition. In a global context marked by territorial destruction, forced migrations, and ecological impact, Badke(remix) acts as a metaphor for rootedness and resistance.
On stage, ten performers with training in contemporary dance, hip-hop, and capoeira break with academic rigidity. The work is an explosion of collective joy that contrasts with the individuality often present in Western contemporary dance, affirming group belonging.

"Dance here is not just art; it is an act of political and emotional resistance. It is the air that enters through the cracks of a poorly insulated house, reminding us that, despite everything, the impulse of life prevails."

the festival's artistic direction
Through this contemporary version of tradition, the piece raises urgent questions about how to challenge a folk dance without alienating the people. Despite its energy and vitality, the festival invites the viewer to look beyond the celebration, where the cracks of a reality marked by occupation and social control are filtered.
With this performance, the 10 Sentidos Festival closes its fifteenth anniversary, reaffirming its commitment to creators who use movement to connect communities and claim their place in a globalized and threatened world.
