In a joint statement issued on Thursday, April 9, 2026, PROMFEST, MúsicaProCV, PROFest, and FOTUR have requested an urgent meeting with the València City Council, the Generalitat Valenciana, and Cacsa. This plea comes two weeks after a judicial ruling cast doubt on the continuation of these events.
The entities warned that the lack of a clear response leaves over 80,000 ticket buyers, 8,000 direct and indirect workers, and the promoters themselves in a state of uncertainty. They claim they have not yet been received by the involved administrations.
Both the judicial ruling and the communication sent by the València City Council to Cacsa do not, by themselves, prevent the celebration of the festivals, but rather propose their development under compliance with acoustic regulations.
The conflict arose from the ruling by the Contentious-Administrative Court number 8 of València, which sided with residents regarding acoustic disturbances caused by large-scale events. This decision compelled the City Council to take measures, including the potential revocation of authorizations or relocation of events, in addition to compensating the plaintiffs. Since then, the future of events like the Festival de les Arts, Big Sound, and Love the 90’s has remained uncertain.
The associations emphasize that festivals remain scheduled with the aim of reassuring ticket buyers, as they have not received any notification from Cacsa prohibiting the events if acoustic compliance is guaranteed.
Furthermore, they have highlighted the economic impact, with 40 million euros of direct impact on the city of València and 2 million euros in revenue for Cacsa at stake. They believe this uncertainty jeopardizes València's image as a “Music City” and affects a crucial part of the city's cultural ecosystem.
Promoters expressed regret over the cancellation of a meeting with the City Council scheduled for April 7 due to “agenda issues.” They deem it “incomprehensible” that, with so many affected individuals and millions at stake, administrations have not engaged with the sector to find a solution that provides certainty, protects employment, and preserves economic activity.
