This new musical project, which Bustamante himself has described as "cooked in a slow and artisanal way," stands out for its "great stylistic variety." The title, Constelator, refers to a set of diverse elements that, when united, form a functional entity, reflecting the album's rich sound.
Most of the tracks on Constelator were composed and produced between 2023 and 2025. However, the album also includes three previously unreleased songs –Barniz, Ferrocarril, and Constelator– that had been waiting for the right moment to be released.
The title, which Bustamante discovered by chance in the dictionary, refers to a set of diverse objects that, when united, constitute a machine or a functional organism.
With an artistic career spanning over 50 years, Julio Bustamante is considered an essential figure in the music scene of the Comunitat Valenciana. Since his first album, Cambrers, released in 1981 and a benchmark of Mediterranean pop, he has released more than a dozen works, including Sinfonía de las horas, Entusiastas, and Sueños emisarios, and has received numerous awards.
Among his accolades, the Carles Santos Honorary Award, granted in 2020 by the Institut Valencià de Cultura (IVC), stands out. This award recognized his extensive career and his ability to be one of the "most transversal artists on the current scene, a cult author and a unifier of emotions."
