The Valencian Generalitat, through its Director General of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), has advocated for the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance public services and transparency.

This commitment was underscored during the inauguration of Computer Week 2026 at Las Naves in València, an event established as a benchmark in the ICT sector of the Valencian Community. The gathering serves as a meeting point for professionals, universities, and the Administration.
The Director General of ICT emphasized that the public technological strategy focuses on innovation with confidence and sustainability, seeking a positive impact on citizens' lives by improving service quality and business competitiveness.

"The Generalitat is committed to security, ethics, and transparency, and thanks to the talent within our professional teams and the private ecosystem of technological partners that supports us, we can undertake the major innovation projects we are carrying out, such as GVA ConfIA."

One of the key projects is GVA ConfIA, the Generalitat's Algorithm Register. This computer application allows the registration of characteristics of systems that use AI or influence public decision-making or the legal sphere of citizens, providing information on the algorithms used.
The project, a pioneer in Spain, was launched in 2025 as a pilot initiative led by the Autonomous Secretariat for Transparency and Participation, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Information and Communication Technologies (DGTIC) and other departments such as Health and Innovation.
Furthermore, the Generalitat has made GVA ConfIA available to other public administrations. The model, developed with a proprietary DGTIC tool, facilitates adoption and interoperability, reducing costs in technological implementations and promoting efficiency.
Within the framework of Computer Week 2026, the managing director of ISTEC presented the paper 'The new paradigm of digital identity in Europe', outlining the project to transform the Generalitat's digital identity services to align with the new European eIDAS2 regulation.
