The event, held at Veneno House, brought together participants from various editions of Fem Taula, a project launched in March 2024 to give a voice to women in the gastronomic sector. The gathering served to foster new connections and strengthen the community.
Driven by journalist Silvia Ruiz de la Prada, Fem Taula has established itself as a space to highlight female talent in Valencian gastronomy, encompassing roles from chefs and sommeliers to farmers, producers, communicators, and designers.
“"I am filled with emotion, pride, and satisfaction to see how far we have come. The network we are building together is impressive, and gatherings like this are the great engine we need at this time of change. We must create spaces where women's voices are relevant and we are protagonists of our own story."
The meeting revolved around a large summer 'sobremesa' (after-meal conversation), conceived as an open space for dialogue, experience sharing, and collective celebration. The initiative was supported by various projects including El Rustidor, Casa de Rojas, Cerveza Destino, Fil.loxera & Cia, Croquetea, Malaerba, Makalú Kombucha, Gente de Bien, Oli La Gaiana, creative designer Marta Lluesma, Teresa Fruites i Verdures, Mahou, Aspai Obrador, Hoja La Floristería, and the host venue Veneno House.
Since its inception, Fem Taula has held seven editions, bringing together over 70 professionals. The current network includes women such as Paula Pons (director of Guía Hedonista), Maje Martínez (content director of Gastrónoma), Carolina Álvarez (head chef of Flores Raras), Aída Martínez (bartender of Santo Remedio), Iris Montoya (PR), Maitu Green and Ana Chávez (founders of Clem Café), Almudena Ortuño (journalist), Carla Centelles (journalist and member of the Valencian Community Gastronomy Academy), and Desirée Stenderup (director of gastronomy for Visit Valencia).
