The events occurred around 07:35 AM on Saturday, April 18, when USAP agents of the Local Police of València detected a Renault car committing a traffic infraction on Gaspar Aguilar Avenue.
When instructed to stop, the driver disobeyed police orders and fled, initiating a pursuit involving several patrols through different streets of the Patraix-Jesús district.
Inside the vehicle were four occupants who had contracted an illegal transport service. During the chase, the passengers experienced moments of great tension, as they tried to get out of the car, but the driver did not allow them.
Finally, the vehicle was intercepted on Tres Cruces Avenue, near the cemetery. Once detained, officers verified that the driver did not have a driving license and had an active judicial conviction prohibiting him from driving since January of this year.
Furthermore, he tested positive in the breathalyzer test with a rate of 0.77 mg/l in exhaled air, which constitutes a criminal level, and refused to undergo drug detection tests. The operation concluded with the initiation of proceedings for the various crimes and infractions committed, leaving the driver at the disposal of the judicial authority.
“"The Local Police of València has highlighted the extreme seriousness of the events, combining driving without a license, under the influence of alcohol, and illegal passenger transport, putting both the occupants and other road users at risk."
