The Villena City Council Plenary Session will be held this Thursday, with a key agenda item being the allocation of a plot of land for the construction of the new Príncipe Don Juan Manuel – La Celada school, a fundamental educational project for the town.

The session, scheduled for 8:30 AM in the Local Police Assembly Hall, will also address significant issues concerning municipal infrastructure and heritage. These include the demanial mutation in favor of ADIF for the implementation of the standard gauge on the Mediterranean Corridor in the Castellbisbal-Murcia section, as well as the specific rectification of the inventory of schools involved in the educational project.
In terms of economic and service management, the plenary will debate the authorization of investments in the Villena Sports Center by the company Local Sports Center Management, S.L.. Additionally, it includes the extrajudicial recognition of credits and the modification of annual payments for the urban solid waste collection and transport contract and street cleaning. The settlement of the fee for the regulated parking service (ORA) and the maintenance of traffic light installations will also be discussed, along with the approval of the basic and execution project for new niches and the urbanization of the municipal cemetery.
Regarding motions, the Socialist Group and Greens of Europe will advocate for a proposal to guarantee school nursing services throughout the day at the APADIS Special Education Center. They will also present a joint initiative with demands directed at the regional employment service LABORA. For its part, Greens of Europe will propose the creation of a municipal environmental compensation fund to address the impact of photovoltaic installations.
The Popular Group will bring to the plenary a proposal to improve passenger rail services and another related to initiating work for the tender and regularization of the drinking water supply and sewerage service. These initiatives are joined by VOX's proposal for the creation of a maintenance plan for the municipality's playgrounds.
