This Sunday, the municipality of Montanejos was the scene of a tribute to Guillem Agulló, who was a militant of organizations such as Maulets and was murdered by a neo-Nazi activist linked to the far-right organization Komando Marchalenes IV Reich. The event, organized by Joves PV Comarques del Nord, the youth collective of Compromís, seeks to keep his memory alive.
The gathering brought together young people from various towns in the Castellón regions, who participated in a day dedicated to remembrance and reflection on the fight against hatred, violence, and any manifestation of fascism. The organizers emphasize the importance of Guillem Agulló's memory as a fundamental tool for building a more just society that respects human rights.
Remembering Guillem Agulló is not only an exercise in memory, but also an active commitment to democracy and the fight against fascism, especially in a context where hate speech is gaining ground again.
This tribute comes just days after the Colectivo de Víctimas del Terrorismo (Covite) formally included the biographical file and circumstances of Agulló's murder in its specialized portal, the Mapa del Terror. This decision implies the recognition of the young man from Burjassot as a victim of far-right terrorism. In fact, the Compromís deputy in the Congress of Deputies, Àgueda Micó, recently presented an initiative for the recognition of victims of fascist aggressions as victims of terrorism.
Within the framework of this initiative, the youth organization has announced that it will present motions in several city councils with a set of anti-fascist measures. These measures are aimed at strengthening policies for the prevention of hatred, the defense of democratic coexistence, and institutional commitment to the values of freedom, equality, and pluralism.
