The Benassal town council has requested the Provincial Council of Castellón to expedite the viability plan for the reopening of the Font d'en Segures spa, closed since 2022, considering it strategic for the municipality.

The municipal representative of Benassal has conveyed to the president of the Provincial Council of Castellón the need to finalize as soon as possible the viability plan commissioned to the Universitat Jaume I (UJI). This study aims to enable the reopening of the Font d'en Segures spa, an infrastructure that has been closed since 2022.

"For Benassal, it is important that this viability plan is finalized so that the opening can become a reality as soon as possible. The recovery of the spa will benefit Benassal and the entire interior of the province."

During the meeting, the municipal representative offered the full collaboration of the town of Benassal so that the Provincial Council can open the spa, considered strategic for its tourist, economic, and social value. It should be noted that the Provincial Council has commissioned two studies from the UJI to evaluate the reopening of the thermal center.
Furthermore, the municipal representative thanked the provincial president's willingness to advance this project and recalled that the Benassal Town Council had already promoted and financed its own viability plan, with an investment of 11,000 euros, with the aim of analyzing the possibility of launching a mixed company for the management of the spa.
The meeting also addressed possible improvements to the surroundings of Font d'en Segures to make it even more attractive for visitors. The municipal representative emphasized the importance of strengthening the municipality's tourist resources and leveraging the potential of this emblematic enclave for Benassal and the entire interior of Castellón.
Finally, the municipal representative described the meeting as “useful and cordial,” conducted “with institutional loyalty” and with the common goal of improving the quality of life and services for the residents of Benassal.
