The Vox party has officially introduced José Juan Raymundo as its new coordinator in Xixona, promising change for the town and denouncing what it considers neglect by the local government.

The presentation event took place on Friday, May 29, at the teatret in Xixona, where Raymundo expressed his conviction that "Jijona deserves much more than it has. And the change starts now." The event was attended by prominent party members, including David García, national deputy for Alicante; María Teresa Ramírez, deputy in the Valencian Parliament; Mercedes García, provincial organization head, and Benito Zuazu, coordinator for l'Alacantí.
Raymundo, who previously served as a councilor and municipal spokesperson two decades ago, emphasized that "politics is not measured in words. It is measured in results." He criticized the state of "total abandonment" of the municipality, despite it being an "economic powerhouse and a global brand" in the nougat sector, which generates nearly 500 million euros annually in Spain.
The new coordinator listed problems such as "deteriorated streets, abandoned neighborhoods, unmaintained roads, obsolete facilities, and forgotten parks," attributing them to "29 years of socialism" and "29 years of excuses." He described the sports facilities as "the shame of two decades" and denounced the "growing tax pressure" on the elderly.
Raymundo also highlighted Xixona's "abandoned" natural environment, citing locations like La Carrasqueta or the Hotel Pou de la Neu as symbols of "lack of management." Regarding young people, he warned that "if they leave, the future leaves" due to "impossible housing" and "non-existent stable employment," and assured that Vox supports "de-seasonalization."
In terms of security, he stated that "Vox does not look the other way" and will act to resolve problems. He also questioned the tax increases despite a potential municipal surplus, proposing to "lower the tax burden" and allocate public funds "to the citizen, absolute priority."
Vox claims to seek "people committed to their town" and not "extras or seats." Raymundo pledged to "lower the tax burden, act on rural parks and roads, modernize sports facilities, and guarantee security," assuring that "Xixona will have national priority." David García emphasized Raymundo's "capacity and support," while Benito Zuazu and Mercedes García highlighted the party's "firm and considered" commitment to the new coordinator.
