The Urbanova area in Alicante will welcome its summer market on Thursday, June 18. The established hours will be in the afternoon, from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The City Council's Commerce and Markets department has authorized a total of 26 stalls, including food and textile products. These stalls will be set up on Músico José Mira Figueroa street, in the section between Carretera del Saladar and Profesor Rafael Casasemper, and will operate every Thursday until September 17.
Organized by the Provincial Autonomous Association of Market Vendors, this initiative is being launched for the third consecutive year during the summer season. Its continuation responds to the request of local residents, who enjoy this service every Thursday for four months, from June to mid-September.
“"Sales and public attendance are very positive, and both residents and merchants were very happy, which is why it is opening again in this coastal area of Alicante to supply food to both visitors spending the summer and locals, avoiding the need to travel to other markets and areas for their shopping."
The Councillor for Markets and Commerce, Lidia López, has highlighted the success of this initiative, stating that "sales and public attendance are very positive." The market provides this tourist area of Alicante, which has numerous homes and a large influx of tourists, with basic food products and craft stalls.
Councillor Lidia López also emphasized the value of non-sedentary sales markets, underscoring that "they offer quality zero-kilometer products, and citizens are choosing to buy from them for their daily needs." She added that "more and more customers are attending on Thursdays due to the quality of their products and the personalized service from their vendors."
