The traffic situation in Alicante province begins with 28 active incidents on 12 roads, mainly due to closures related to the Santa Faz pilgrimage, in addition to accidents and roadworks.

The General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) has reported 28 active incidents on 12 roads in Alicante province as of 08:49 AM this Thursday. The most significant situation involves traffic cuts caused by the Santa Faz pilgrimage, particularly affecting access points to the capital.
The main area of complication is around Alicante city. The N-332 is completely closed between Sant Joan d’Alacant and El Campello, in both directions, due to activities related to the pilgrimage. This closure is compounded by the CV-821 between Sant Joan and Santa Faz, also closed to traffic, which is forcing detours and causing difficult circulation throughout the area.
In addition to the pilgrimage-related closures, roadworks continue on the N-332 between El Campello and Coveta Fumà, with mobile cuts that could cause occasional delays in the coming days. Several incidents due to obstacles on the road have been reported, some related to accidents, such as on the AP-7 in Daya Nueva, the CV-84 in Carrús (Elche), the CV-767 in Finestrat (reported last night), and the EL-20 in Algorós due to a vehicle fire.
Obstacles are also present on main roads like the A-70 near Santa Faz and the A-7 in Albatera, requiring extreme caution. Roadwork restrictions persist on the AP-7 near Agost, with sections of total closure, and on inland roads such as the CV-70 or the CV-790, with alternative traffic.
Authorities recommend avoiding the use of private vehicles for access to Alicante and Sant Joan, and planning alternative routes, given the large number of people traveling to Santa Faz. The day is marked by tradition and the need for caution behind the wheel.
